Arno Coenen

The Markthal was designed by architect Winy Maas and has been the place in Rotterdam for fresh products since October 1, 2014. On the ceiling of the arch-shaped hall is the impressive 'Horn of Plenty' of over 11,000 m2 created by the Coenen team: A psychedelic work of art that makes you feel small and insignificant in the face of the forces of nature.

The pattern

Earlier in 2014, Mascolori designed shoes with the 'Horn of Plenty' together with Arno Coenen (1972) & Iris Roskam (1976) - in honor of the opening of the Markthal. Due to great success, a shoe with a print of the inside of the building has now been given a new look: The Markthal shoe 3.0.

The beginning

Arno Coenen has done more cool things. What is characteristic is that it gives color to places that often have little taste. He has also provided a skate park with old-Skool pen drawings and he has enchanted the Beurstraverse in Amsterdam with his special work. You can also be up for everything he has donelook at the site.
