No Mass Production
The Fashion Industry has a massive problem. Companies have turned to mass production using cheap synthetic materials as a way to turn a profit. A by-product of this fast fashion approach is that brands now find it more profitable to destroy old or returned items rather than try to sell them. This is a waste of materials and damaging to the environment.

Here at Mascolori we purposely produce our shoes in limited runs with only the best quality materials. This means that all of our Mascoloris find a loving home and no shoes need to be destroyed. We also use fewer materials which reduces the strain on the environment.

European Materials
Mascolori works directly with European material suppliers to make sure that all of our materials are sustainable and non-damaging. By sourcing our materials from Europe not only are we ensuring a superior quality we also limit the carbon footprint from transportation.
Wherever possible we order materials in bulk to reduce the number of deliveries we receive each month.
EU Regulations
The REACH regulation (Regulation (EC) 1907/2006), lists a number of materials and chemicals that are prohibited for use within the EU. This ban helps us keep harmful substances from our environment, including some leather dyes such as azo dyes. To help facilitate this we use EU-based suppliers and make sure that they are complying with this regulation.
Directive 94/11/EC requires that all footwear products identify which materials are used in the shoes. The materials of the upper, the lining, and the outer sole must all be outlined. This helps with the disposal, recycling, and monitoring of these products and makes sure that no harmful substances enter the supply chain. We proudly use the best quality materials, and you can find more about our materials and production process here.

Post NL
We are extremely proud to deliver all Mascoloris using Post NL. More importantly, PostNL is one of the most sustainable companies in the world in the logistics and transport sector and ranks third on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
PostNL has the ambition to deliver all parcels and letters in the Benelux emission-free by 2030 and already delivers a lot of parcels by foot or through electric/fuel-efficient vehicles.
The strong action taken by Post NL towards protecting the environment is one of the reasons that we are happy to utilise them on a daily basis.
